  • Early Childhood Teacher
    Lora is a passionate teacher, who offers children the freedom to explore their world at their pace and encourage in-depth imaginative play. She is a highly focused educator with six years facilitating a safe, nurturing and supportive environment for infant and preschool-aged children. Lora's main focus is to support children to become curious, confident, competent learners, who will have a lifelong love of learning.
  • Hannah Smith

    Early Childhood Teacher
    Hannah is a qualified Primary School teacher, who has recently completed her Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood. After a few years of living and working overseas, Hannah is now home in Christchurch where she enjoys swimming and spending lots of time with family and friends. She enjoys meeting people and loves to be introduced to new cultures, so naturally travelling has become a part of her life. Hannah is a passionate, dedicated, honest teacher who enjoys teaching tamariki certain elements of sustainability within her practice.
  • Liesl O’Flaherty

    Early Childhood Teacher
    Liesl graduated from the University of Canterbury in 2012 with a Bachelor of Teaching and Learning (Early Childhood) and has since continued on to complete her full teacher registration in 2015. Liesl loves supporting children along their learning journey, towards becoming confident and competent learners. In her spare time, Liesl likes to travel and try new things. Her favourite pastimes are fishing, paddle boarding and 4x4 motor biking!
  • Sophie Wadeson

    Early Childhood Teacher
    Sophie has a BA degree in English and Classics and went on to complete a Graduate Diploma of Teaching and Learning (Early Childhood Education) at the University of Canterbury, graduating in 2007. Sophie is a fully registered, experienced early childhood teacher. Her philosophy is grounded on respectful relationships with children and their whaanau. Sophie is passionate about music and brings this into her teaching. As a mother of three children, Sophie understands the importance of quality care and education.
  • Sarah Corkin

    Managing Director
    Sarah Corkin is Managing Director of Buttercups Preschool. She has completed a Bachelor of Commerce (Management) in 2007 and then went on to attain a Graduate Diploma of Teaching and Learning (Early Childhood Education) in 2009. Sarah is fully registered and experienced in teaching children under the age of five. As a busy mother of two children under the age of five, Sarah understands the need for the provision of quality childcare. Sarah has been working on the goal of providing an intimate setting for children to learn, where they are provided with ongoing opportunities within a nurturing, inclusive environment. She is enjoying seeing this vision come to fruition, at Buttercups Preschool.
